Every game, franked and filed.

A West Melbourne gaming blog that treats each review like a collectible stamp — hand-engraved impressions of retro classics, indie gems and the odd blockbuster, catalogued with an obsessive's care.

The Postmark

A philatelist's eye, aimed at pixels.

PixelGameOdyssey began in 2016 above a print shop on Wills Street, where founder Marissa spent her lunch breaks sorting stamps and her evenings finishing Metroidvanias. The two hobbies fused: we review games the way collectors grade stamps — for condition, rarity, and the story in the margins.

No score-chasing, no launch-day hype. Every piece is played to completion, engraved with fine detail, and filed into a growing catalogue our readers actually reference before they buy.

The rarity stamps sound like a gimmick until you use them. I skipped three overhyped launches on their "Common Print" grade and finally bought a 2009 gem I'd never heard of. Best gaming money I've spent all year.

I came for the retro deep-dives and stayed for the writing. The essay tracing one dungeon idea across four sequels made me replay a whole series with new eyes. It reads like a proper magazine, not a hot-take feed.

The first-Thursday listener evenings near the market are a real highlight. I turned up not knowing anyone and left with a stack of indie recommendations and a printed pixel-art stamp sheet. Genuinely lovely community.
